The American Jazz Award

Inspired by the music of Miles Davis, this award was created in 2002 by sculptor Omar Shaheed in his quest to honor and acknowledge one of the greatest forms of music created by African Americans and enjoyed by the world. The award will be presented yearly to various jazz musicians honoring their participation and accomplishments within the field of jazz. We look forward to corporate involvement in our quest to support this American born music.
